Chicken Little
G | 2005 | Voices of Zach Braff, Garry Marshall | Critics: 9-7-2-5
Because of an earlier cry-wolf situation, the denizens of Oakey Oaks have labeled Chicken Little a bit of an alarmist. All that old resentment disappears when the little guy scores a winning run in a championship game and becomes the toast of the town. When he again thinks the sky is falling, he's loath to tell anyone, even though, this time, the sky really is falling. Now he must figure out a way to save the world and his rep.
Marcellino : Bread and Wine
G | 2001 | Didier Benureau, Sergio Bini Bustric, Alberto Cracco, Fernando Fernan Gomez
In this Italian remake of the 1955 film of the
same name, a baby is abandoned on the steps of a 16th century monastery
during wartime. The friars raise the boy, whom they name Marcellino,
until he is 6, at which time he is taken in by a wealthy Count and his
wife. Marcellino is lonely there, and when the Count takes him on his
first hunt, the violence causes the boy to run back to the monastery.
A tick on the bottom right corner indicates a superior work -- although this is obviously a matter of taste. To give another quality benchmark for films, we have surveyed some leading critics and recorded their views, on a scale of 1 (poor) to 10 (outstanding).
