PG | 2000 | Massimo Bonetti, Luisa Ranier, Flavio Insinna, Martina Pinto, Fabrizio Bucci, Marco Messeri
Maria Goretti and Alexander Serenelli experience a friendship that
could have been transformed into love. But Alexander, overcome by
passion, chooses a different path and violently stabs his friend.
During her agony, the young girl forgives her murderer, and shows that
it is possible to respond to hatred with love. The life of Maria is
brief but intense, and is marked by a continual training in love
through little actions of everyday life.

A doctor in the chronic-care ward of a Bronx hospital tends to patients suffering from
encephalitis lethargica, a disease, caused by a virus, which has left them comatose. Through the experimental use of a drug called L Dopa, the doctor is able to revive several of his patients, many of whom have been asleep; for decades. Based on a book by Oliver Sacks.
A tick on the bottom right corner indicates a superior work -- although this is obviously a matter of taste. To give another quality benchmark for films, we have surveyed some leading critics and recorded their views, on a scale of 1 (poor) to 10 (outstanding).
