Color trends vary but coral is a favorite

InStyle Magazine in the United States has an interesting article in its April edition. The fashion publication identifies the various trends found around the world and surprisingly the results varied from place to place.

Here are some of the more interesting trends:

Lipstick shades:

  • Hungary – Orange Reds
  • Germany – Dark Reds
  • Australia – Bright Reds
  • Brazil – Vibrant Pinks
  • China – Beiges
  • Romania – Light Pinks

Denim colors:

  • Turkey – Light Blues
  • South Korea – Whites
  • Spain – Grays
  • Poland – Black

Nail polish:

  • Greece – Burgundies
  • Russia – Green
  • Poland – Red
  • Turkey – Powder Pink
  • Thailand – Magentas

In the US, and several other countries, we’re all about coral for the Spring. But unfortunately, this yellow-based color is not exactly flattering on the majority of women. This does not, however, mean it’s a fashion no-no.

When it comes to wearing the latest colors and shades, make sure the color closest to your face is the most flattering. For instance, if yellow-based colors are not your thing and you find blue-based shades more appealing, put the blue-toned item at your face and the yellowish color further away.

So, if you want to wear coral, try pairing it with a cornflower blue scarf or jacket. Those two colors work perfectly together and this way you can still wear coral without looking sick or washed out.
