Young Readers have a new heroine to follow in Tricia Springstubb's new beginner chapter book series.

Cody is a loveable and endearing girl who loves her family, all living creatures, indeed, Cody loves life! She has a sunny outlook on life that helps her make friends and find adventures in every situation.

In Cody and the Fountain of Happiness, Cody begins summer vacation with enthusiastic abandon. Although she misses her father, who drives a truck and is often away from home, she finds consolation in being the bright spot in her mother's day. Wyatt, Cody's teenage brother, works hard to act like Cody is a nuisance, but she knows she can count on him when the chips are down.

In Cody and the Mysteries of the Universe, Cody begins a new school year with her neighborhood friend Spencer. A conscientious child, Cody strives to overcome her faults, though sometimes her good intentions get in the way.

Tricia Springstubb's bright new series is a breath of fresh air in the world of children's literature. Cody's devoted parents and doting brother give her the grounding she needs to be herself. A perky, energetic girl, Cody strives to understand and help everyone. A healthy family life serves as a refreshing backdrop for these innocent tales.

Addendum, June 13, 2017.  The third book of this series, Cody and the Rules of Life, continues Cody's adventures. It should be noted that one of the characters makes a joke about women's undergarments that parents may find inappropriate for this age range.

A former teacher, Jennifer Minicus is currently a full-time wife and mother.
