1914 marks the amalgation of Nigeria into one country from the previous Northern and Southern protectorates of the former colonial British empire.  Though I doubt if the result of that union is a true nation, beneath the modernity that is todays Nigeria, there remains a strong, vibrant and colourful traditional institution that for its people remain a presever of a prideful past and values.
