How big is your treehouse?

Bestselling duo Andy Griffiths and Terry Denton are the author and illustrator of this book but also star as the main characters who get up to some hilarious antics as they attempt to write a book for Mr Big Nose their publisher.
The setting is an extraordinary treehouse that includes an underground laboratory, swimming pool, a room full of pillows, man-eating sharks, a bowling alley, games room and lemonade fountain!
Although amusing, the story shows how the creative process doesn't always come readily; there are many delays and attempts to steer away from that blank piece of paper before the story is even attempted. The authors have cleverly made the book humourous so that children will not really even notice they are reading something with good messages. Television, for example, is presented as dull in comparison to the possibility of writing. If your child likes drawing, flying cats, contraptions and the idea of living in a wonderful treehouse this will definitely get their attention.
Illustrator Terry Denton has had a long and wonderful career in children's books and has an energy and spirit to his drawings. The book has been reprinted twelve times in successive years. Sequels The 26-Storey Treehouse and The 39-Storey Treehouse are also available. A former children's librarian, Jane Fagan is currently a full-time mother of two.
