Need some action? Sure Fire is fast and fun
After their mother dies in a car accident, Jade and Rich go to live with their estranged father, whom they'd never met before (more on why later).
Things don't seem quite right at his apartment, the phone has a scrambler attached, there's no food in the house, and their father throws all his mail straight into the rubbish. And he doesn't seem to want them with him at all.
Then they witness his capture and must go to his aid... but hidden strangers are watching their every move. The chase begins, and with it, the search for who their father really is, and who among all the people who approach them they can really trust.
It's a well plotted adventure that fits tightly together and keeps you glued to the page (perhaps some of the stunt-work is a little over the top, but it's fun just the same). Not much is made of the parents' separation before the mother's death, though the implied reason is that his work was too dangerous to allow him to stay with the family... not ideal but not especially anti-family either. Between the father and children everything ends up as it should. Overall it's recommended (especially for boys and action lovers) ages 11-15yrs+
