Sexual Revolution; 50 Years Since Humanae Vitae
2018 has been a year for evaluating the technology that fired the sexual revolution in the light of the papal encyclical that rejected the contraceptive pill and warned against its corrosive effects. MercatorNet has run several articles about Humanae Vitae but we somehow missed the launch of a great documentary film on the subject back in June.
If, like us, you have not yet seen Sexual Revolution: 50 Years Since Humanae Vitae, Springtime Productions, the company behind it, is offering it streamed over the internet this coming weekend for a mere US$4.99. Access starts US (Eastern?) time on Friday, December 7 at 10am and continues for 72 hours. You need to pre-order your streaming link starting now.
The extended trailer below gives a taste of the key figures in the birth of modern natural family planning and the pill who appear, along with an all-star cast of experts and scholars who give perspectives on the issues. The film is directed by Daniel diSilva and narrated by Alana Newman—a woman born through donor-conception and founder of The Anonymous Us Project. It also features Abby Johnson, the former Planned Parenthood clinic worker who became a staunch pro-life advocate. (Review next week.)
