    Any decrease in divorce rates is good news, but I’m not sure his examination of the data is thorough enough to actually hold up to a more fulsome scrutiny. Did he control for ethnic and religious difference? Surely another obvious factor in all of this is that due to the problem of falling marriage rates, those women who do marry are actually more likely to remain married because they prioritise commitment to marriage (rather than personal happiness) more highly than their female peers who aren’t marrying?
